Mi Band – HRX Edition (Black)
Strangely enough, the band had 0% charge. Xiaomi should note this. The supplied charging cradle was too slow to charge a 70mah cell. It took almost 2 hours to charge.
Setup was pretty simple, just enable Bluetooth and location and follow the instructions on the app. Many users reported they had to do it twice as most phones would not discover the band. Mine had no such issue. Notification alert is something really useful but it drains the battery. That’s not what I expected. I was even surprised to see alarm options in this. OLED display was good indoors ,but not visible in direct sunlight. Hope Xiaomi includes settings to adjust the brightness. The response is slick but at times there’s a delay for the screen to glow. The lack of heart rate sensor isn’t that disappointing but bands below 1000 do provide heart rate sensor, worth noting. Overall, I’m satisfied. It measures almost accurately. Definitely something I would suggest….
Heart rate sensor
– Isn’t accurate at all. Once shows 75 bpm and if tested again after 2 or 3 seconds shows 95 bpm. Senses heart rate for my table also, which obviously doesn’t have a heart.
Cons – When Automatic Heart rate detection is turned on it lasts 3-5 days. Orelse battery life is great.
Cons- This is my biggest issue. Scratches very easily, may be it is a plastic screen and it is a fingerprint magnet. And its really hard to see the screen in direct sunlight.
Taking the capsule or main body from the wrist band is a tough task. Feels like the capsule is going to break everytime you try to take it out. Takes around 2 hrs to charge fully.
